Obituary for Alvin A. Yablonski

Alvin A. Yablonski, 79, of Hoskins Road, Simsbury, beloved husband of Carol (Cooper) Yablonski, died Friday (April 6, 2012) at his home surrounded by his family. He was born December 24, 1932 in Chicago, IL, son of the late Joseph and Julia (Marcinkowski) Pietryzkowski and had lived in Greenville, Mississippi prior to moving to Simsbury in 1976. He was a veteran of the Korean War having served in the U.S. Navy. Mr. Yablonski was in manufacturing, working as a quality control manager and then owned the Center Package Store in Canton. After retirement he worked at Stop and Shop of Simsbury. Alvin was a member of the Burlington Men's Club, was an avid golfer and fisherman and enjoyed football, especially playing while in the Navy. Besides his loving wife of 52 years, he is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Bonnie and Paul Welsh of Simsbury; a son and daughter-in-law, Jonathan and Heidi Yablonski of Pembroke Pines, FL and three grandchildren, Christian, Brenna and Gibson. The family would like to thank the staff of McLean Home Hospice for the loving care and support they provided.Friends may call at the Vincent Funeral Home, 880 Hopmeadow Street in Simsbury on Tuesday, April 10th from 5-8 p.m. Funeral service and burial will be private.
