Obituary for Norman Frank Ottmann

Norman Frank  Ottmann
Norman Frank Ottmann, 87, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, July 31, 2013. He was born in Mamaroneck, NY and had graduated from Bellows High School. He attended La Salle Military Academy and the University of Virginia. He was a veteran, honorably discharged by the U.S. Navy. He was Vice President of Atlantic Pipe for over 30 years and a member of the Golf Club of Avon for over 50 years. He was also an avid golfer and all around athlete.

He was predeceased by his wife, Rose Marie “Snookie” Ottmann and his brother Richard Ottmann of Vermont. Norm is survived by his brother Gordon Ottmann; his children, Mindy Ottmann of Farmington, Robin Lindsey of Simsbury and Mark “Bo” Ottmann of Canton; his step daughters Kathy McGill of New Britain and Karen Hulfish of Manchester; his grandchildren Kyle McGill of New Britain, Jennifer Ottmann of Farmington and Danielle Lindsey and Ryan Lindsey of Simsbury all who affectionately called him “Pop Pop”; his mother in law, Bette Robinson of Florida; his brother-in-law, Terry Robinson and wife Patty of Florida; his nieces Heidi Larkin, and Sherry Ottmann and his nephews Gary Ottmann, Kurt Ottmann, Kent Ottmann, Steve Ottmann and Derek Robinson and his great nieces and nephews.

There are no calling hours. A private military service will be held August 9, 2013 at Gate of Heaven in Hawthorne, NY.
