Donald F. Jutton, 89, of Simsbury, CT, beloved husband of Lottie Mary (Barber) Jutton, died Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at his home with his family by his side. He will be remembered as a kind, gentle and selfless spirit who loved dogs, birds, children (especially his grandchildren), bowling and spending time with his family, especially his lifelong friend, companion and love of his life, Lottie. He was born July 31, 1924 in Schenectady, NY, son of the late David and Beatrice (Keefer) Jutton, and had lived in Schenectady, all of his life, before moving to Simsbury five years ago. Donald was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Navy. Mr. Jutton was an Assembler for General Electric Turbine Manufacturing for many years prior to his retirement.

Besides his wife of 67 years, Donald is survived by two sons, Don Jutton and his wife Terry of Meredith, NH and David Jutton and his wife Lynda of Red Hook, NY; his daughter, MaryAnn Philo and her husband Daryl of Simsbury; his beloved sister-in-law, Annette “Bunnie” Jutton; nine grandchildren; five great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his brothers, Robert C. Jutton and David A. Jutton and his sister, Beatrice Peck. The family would like to extend special thanks to the McLean Home Hospice Program and Dr. William Preskenis for their compassionate care.
There are no calling hours. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, April 26th, 11:00 AM at St. Catherine of Siena Church, 265 Stratton Brook Road in West Simsbury, CT. Private burial will be in the Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery in Niskayuna, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675 or to the Children’s Hospital at Dartmouth, Office of Gift Recording, One Medical Center Drive, Hinman Box 7070, Lebanon, NH 03756-0001.
