Frances V. Oakes, 95, wife of the late John Allen Oakes, Sr., died Sunday, December 14, 2014. She was born August 7, 1919 in Hartford, one of six children born to Antonio and Teresa Trapasso. Frances was an excellent cook, loved her garden, travelled extensively around the world, and loved her log cabin in Vermont. She was loved and cherished by her family and many friends. Frances is survived by her daughter, Terry Oakes Bourret and son-in-law, Don Bourret; her son John Allen Oakes, Jr. and daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Oakes and two grandchildren, John and Michael Oakes. The family would like to thank the staff of the Hebrew Home and Healthcare of Bloomfield and Masonicare Hospice for their loving care, kindness and support.
