Obituary for Roger L. Toffolon

Roger L. Toffolon, 95, of Simsbury, passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by his loved ones, on Friday, September 18, 2015. He was born in Plainville on November 8, 1919, the eldest son of the late Louis and Florence (Welz) Toffolon. He was a graduate of Plainville High School, Class of 1937, and served in the U.S. Army during WWII. For many years, he and his family owned and operated White Oak Corporation in Plainville. He had a great understanding and passion for all aspects of the construction industry. Although he built many roads and bridges over his lifetime, he often shared with others that his greatest joy was his involvement with two church building projects during the later part of his life. He was grateful to God for giving him the time to read and study the Bible, cover to cover, while he was in his nineties and for the gift of eternal life through Jesus Christ his Lord and Savior. Besides his beloved wife, Marcia, he is survived by his son, Marc Toffolon, of Hermon, NY, his daughter Diane Carsley and her husband, Dr. Malcolm Carsley, of Stockton Springs, ME, his granddaughter, Leah Toffolon, of Putney, VT, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. All are invited to join in a celebration service of his life at 12 noon on Saturday, September 26th at the Vincent Funeral Home, 880 Hopmeadow Street in Simsbury. Viewing will be held prior to the service starting at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be private. Please visit Roger's "Book of Memories" at www.vincentfuneralhome.com for online condolences.
