Obituary for Elsie Newell

Elsie Newell
Elsie "Babe" Newell died peacefully in her home surrounded by her family and caregivers on September 22, 2015. She was born on July 4, 1926 to parents Everett and Elsie Eaton. She was predeceased by husband John R. "Jack" Newell, Jr., and sisters Marie Viering and Merle Miner. Elsie is survived by her sister Faith Dennis; sisters in-law Edith Buckley and Angela Newell; son Everett J. Newell and wife Cathy Newell; daughter Janis E. Newell and husband Tom McGuire; son Tracy E. Newell and wife Dorian DeSimone; grandchildren Tanya Newell Kempf and husband Jason Kempf; Jason R. Newell, Tessa E. Newell, and great-grandchildren: Jack Kempf and Luke Kempf. Babe attended UConn, was a flight attendant for American Airlines, worked and owned the Eaton Hardware, was employed at Commercial Record, and volunteered at the Canton Historical Museum. We best remember Babe for her love of her family, her love of Collinsville, and her dedication to the Eaton Hardware. There will be no calling hours and services will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Babe's memory to the American Cancer Society, 825 Brook Street, I-91 Tech Cntr., Rocky Hill, CT 06067 or to Farmington Valley VNA, 80 Old Mill Lane, Simsbury, CT 06070. The Vincent Funeral Home of Canton is caring for the arrangements. Please visit Babe's "Book of Memories" at www.vincentfuneralhome.com for online condolences.
