Condolence From: Michael Kiesewetter
Condolence: Dr. Polio was my doctor for 10 years. He was also the doctor who diagnosed my brother with colorectal cancer and recommended ongoing preventative measures for me. My brother would not be around today if it were not for Dr. Polio. Over the years, Dr. Polio performed many procedures on me and I have never met such a compassionate person who cared so much about how I felt (I fear hospitals and anesthesia)during my hospital visits. He always communicated honestly with me before and after the procedures, and had the best doctor to patient attitude I have ever experienced. He also had a great way of making me feel at ease by adding in some humor when needed, but while still showing his compassionate and caring side. When I visited another doctor at his practice, I was so heartbroken to know Dr. Polio would no longer be treating me. My thoughts and prayers go out to him and his entire family. I will never forget what a great doctor he was.

Condolence From: Tracy Brennan
Condolence: To the Dear Polio Family: I am an ObGyn in the Hartford area. Many years ago my daughter developed a liver problem and everyone recommended I call Dr Polio to discuss the situation. Although he did not know me He took an hour out of his busy office day to talk to me. He was so kind and compassionate. I am brought to tears reading the beautiful tributes to him. I am sure God embraced him warmly at the end of his life and said "job well done my good and faithful servant!" I hope that you will be comforted by all of the warm and joyful memories you have of this exceptional man. Love and prayers. Tracy Brennan

Condolence: Dr. Polio was my father's gastroenterologist and mastered the difficulties of keeping his problem esophagus open. More importantly he was a wonderful and compassionate man and he and my father had many great conversations. My father had great respect and much affection for him. His death is a loss for the greater Hartford community. My sincere condolences to his family.

Condolence: To the Polios: Our hearts are broken hearing about John's passing. He was a wonderful husband, son, father and brother. Although Alexis and I had not seen John in many years, we still remember the fond times whenever we had the opportunity to be in his company. John will always be in our thoughts and prayers...he was beloved by all. Our deepest condolences on his passing.
