Donald C. Warner, Jr., 75, of Simsbury, beloved husband of Elizabeth “Betty” (Lofland) Warner, died Tuesday, January 12, 2015 at McLean in Simsbury. He was born February 4, 1940 in Springfield, MA, son of the late Donald C. and Hazel (Edgerton) Warner and had lived in Simsbury for the past 47 years. Don proudly served in the U.S. Navy on board the USS Dupont. In 1966, while working for Ren Electronics in Ludlow, MA, he moved to Colorado to assist in the creation of a new manufacturing facility outside of Denver. Following that Don moved to the aerospace industry first with Stanley Aviation in Aurora, CO and then with Ensign Bickford Aerospace Company in Simsbury, CT where he spent the remainder of his professional life in contract administration retiring in 1999 after 30 years of service. Since then Don has loved his work and all the people he encountered at Simsbury Farms Golf Course. Don was a Little League coach, Ski Patrol Volunteer, passionate skier, avid golfer, and more recently enjoyed his brightly colored 1938 Chevy hot rod as well as anything he could do from the seat of his John Deere tractor. Besides his loving wife of 53 years, he is survived by his daughter, Tammy Warner and her husband Chris Worthen of West Simsbury; his two grandchildren, Graham and Katherine Campson of West Simsbury; his sister Linda Sliech of Feeding Hills, MA and many nieces, nephews and beloved neighbors and friends. He was predeceased by his son, Jeffrey Scott Warner.
