Obituary for Peter Arnold Tozer

Peter Arnold Tozer, 56, of Collinsville, died Wednesday, February 24, 2016 at his home. He was born December 10, 1959 in New York City, son of Georgina Alger (Tozer) Mikoleit of Farmington and the late Arnold Tozer. Peter grew up in Manchester and Newington, CT and was a respected Stage technician, Audio Engineer and venerated member of the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees Local 84 since 1991 after a long and storied career as a freelance soundman for dozens of bands and performing artists throughout the northeast. For many years he proudly served as Head of Audio for the Mortenson Theater at the Bushnell Center for the Performing Arts in Hartford. Peters love of music and the performing arts is honored by the hundreds of artists and friends who will miss his loving presence. Some of his happiest times were spent at the family cottage at the Cape, a joy that he shared with and passed on to his son, Ethan Ellis Varcoe, of Tariffville. In addition to his mother and son, he is survived by several cousins and extended family who remember fondly his sense of humor and special delight in slightly “off the grid” birthday and Christmas cards.

Calling hours will be held Saturday, March 19, from 3 to 5 pm at Vincents Funeral Home at 880 Hopmeadow St, Simsbury, CT.
