Kevin Michael Riordan, 81, of Tariffville, beloved husband of Frances (McGowan) Riordan, died Wednesday, September 8, 2016 at St. Francis Hospital in Hartford. He was born May 21, 1935 in Norwich, son of the late Charles and Mary (Canty) Riordan. He had lived in Medfield, MA prior to moving to Tariffiville, CT 40 years ago. Kevin was a graduate Norwich Free Academy in Connecticut class of 1953 and the University Connecticut, Class of 1958 having received his Bachelors of Science Degree in Business Administration. Mr. Riordan was a Sales Representative for Prentice Hall Publishing for many years prior to his retirement in 1998. He was a member and Usher at St. Bernard’s Church in Tariffville, he was an avid history buff and enjoyed a good party and time at the beach. Besides his loving wife of 48 years, he is survived by his daughter, Theresa Shelton of Tariffiville; his son Timothy Riordan of Fort Riley, KS; his granddaughter, Emily Shelton of Granby, CT; his great granddaughter, Melanie Rose Larriu of Granby, CT and his brother, James Riordan and his wife Virginia of Naples, FL. He was predeceased by his brother, Maj. Charles David Riordan (USMC).
