Obituary for Raymond A. Osden Jr.

Raymond A.  Osden Jr.
Raymond A. Osden, Jr., 68, of Canton, beloved husband of Catherine (Lattarulo) Osden, died Monday, September 12, 2016 at John Dempsey Hospital in Farmington. He was born September 12, 1948 in Hartford, son of the late Raymond A. Osden, Sr. and Jennie (Novatka) Osden and had lived in Canton his entire life. Mr. Osden was a Construction Foreman for Riverside Nursery in Collinsville for many years. He was a member of St. Patrick’s Church in Collinsville, was a Charter Member of the Burlington Men’s Club, a lifetime member of the Northwest CT Sportsman’s Association Rod and Gun Club and was a member of the Matunuck Beach Trailer Association in Matunuck, RI. Ray was an avid classic car enthusiast and enjoyed stock car racing, fishing, camping and hunting.

Besides his loving wife of 18 years, he is survived by his daughter, Tammy Osden of Canton; his brother, Donald Osden of Collinsville; his sister, Carol Badgley of Southington; his step-children, Sheri DeJesus of Kensington, Johnny Theus of New Hartford, Rusty Theus and his wife Debbie of Burlington, Theresa Bendell and her husband Michael of Avon; his grandchildren Sarah, and Ross, and several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his son, William Osden; his sister, Bette Capen and his loyal companion German Short Pointer, Mac.

Friends may call at the Vincent Funeral Home, 120 Albany Turnpike in Canton on Thursday, September 15th from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, September 16th, 11:00 AM at St. Patrick’s Church, Church Street in Collinsville. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
