Obituary for Normand Richard

Normand Richard, 81, passed away Monday, October 10, 2016 at his home in Melbourne, FL. Normand was born March 8, 1935 to Hector and Denise (Caron) Richard in Hartford, one of six children. He graduated from Hartford Public High School in 1953, and he received his Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Trinity College in 1957. He retired from the technology field where he last served as Vice President of Cadre in Avon, CT. Prior to that he worked as a Systems Analyst for the Conning Company in Hartford, CT. Normand was a devout catholic and a active member of The Church of Saint Ann in Avon, where he served as an administer of the Eucharist. Norman devoted his life to caring for his family, friends and anyone he came across who was in need. He had a tremendous capacity to give of himself without expecting anything in return. He enjoyed running, tennis, real estate, cars and coins.

Normand is survived by his daughter, Linda Richard of Port Charlotte, FL; his two sons, Robert Richard and John Richard, both of Canton; his brothers, Bob Richard and his wife Wendy and Donald Richard and his wife Suzanne; his sisters, Mary Anne Guerrina and her husband Al, Anita Leone and her husband Sam and Lorraine Rubinow; his grandchildren, Nicole and Marc Erickson, Robin and Jodi Hirsch, Jocelyn and Andre Richard, and Chelsea, Sean, Cameron, Brian and Mackenzie Richard; his great grandson, Russel Hirsch, and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his daughter-in-law, Nancy Richard of Canton, CT.

The family will greet friends at the Vincent Funeral Home, 120 Albany Turnpike in Canton on Friday, October 28th from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Saturday, October 29th at St. Patrick’s Church in Collinsville. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Collinsville.
