Condolence: Mrs. DaBica was my very favorite teacher growing up. I had her for second grade at Tootin' Hills School in the 80's. She was so sweet and kind and always had a nice sense of humor. Her famous "tushywhopper"(her giant purse filled with all sorts of treasures) was both laughable and dreaded, though I don't think anyone's tushy met it's fate this way. I remember her classroom and her smiling face well. I hope knowing how many students she loved and cared for helps to bring peace to this sad time. She is remembered with love and is truly a gem.

Condolence: Although Gerry was a friend and schoolmate to our mother/mother-in-law, she was also our friend, too! She was such fun to be with. While visiting us when we lived in Switzerland, we did the 'tour' with her, laughing the whole time. Such a good memory.
Our condolences to you, her family, and we will always remember her with a smile.

Condolence: Dear Rick and Billie Jean,
As you know, your mother and my mother were childhood friends that kept together throughout their adult lives. To say the least, they were both very special people that shared and enjoyed many wonderful times together.
My father and I would like to express our deepest sympathy to you on the loss of your mother. Having gone through this, we realize how hard this is for you, but we know that fond memories have a way of pushing us forward.
We received the following poem when my mother, Florence, passed away and wanted to share it with you. Your mother, Gerry, definitely epitomized the “Dash” – a terrific woman and will never be forgotten.

The Dash
by Linda Ellis
I read of a man who stood to speak
at the funeral of a friend.
He referred to the dates on the tombstone
from the beginning ... to the end.
He noted that first came the date of birth
and spoke the following date with tears,
but he said what mattered most of all
was the dash between those years.
For that dash represents all the time
that they spent alive on earth.
And now only those who loved them
know what that little line is worth.
For it matters not, how much we own,
the cars ... the house ... the cash.
What matters is how we live and love
and how we spend our dash.
So, think about this long and hard.
Are there things you’d like to change?
For you never know how much time is left
that can still be rearranged.
If we could just slow down enough
to consider what’s true and real
and always try to understand
the way other people feel.
And be less quick to anger
and show appreciation more
and love the people in our lives
like we’ve never loved before.
If we treat each other with respect
and more often wear a smile,
remembering that this special dash
might only last a little while.
So, when your eulogy is being read,
with your life’s actions to rehash ...
would you be proud of the things they say
about how you spent YOUR dash?

Condolence: We are profoundly sorry BillyJean for your loss. My memories of Gerry are ones that make me smile. She was a bit of a prankster and always ready to have fun. Her children were paramount to her and she took her role of motherhood seriously.. You are a credit to her.
