Norma A. Duschaneck (Duffany)
Norma A. “Dolly” Duschaneck, 89, beloved wife of William R. Duschaneck, born Jan. 23, 1927, passed away Nov. 26, 2016 at her family farm in Simsbury, CT with her granddaughter Meredith by her side. She was predeceased by her father Frank Duffany and her mother Harriet Baron, stepfather Ralph Baron, brothers Robert and Alan Duffany and her husband of 64 years, William R. “Bill” Duschaneck. She leaves her loving daughters, Diane E. Conwell and husband Stephen P. Conwell of Georgia, Jennifer L. Prince and her husband Dave of Rhode Island, and Sarah V. Egloff and her husband Edward of Colorado, along with her brothers, Ralph and Charles Baron of Florida. She had 7 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. She graduated from Simsbury High School and then attended Averett Collage for Women in Danville, VA. Where she was a Connecticut Yankee who had many friends due to her outgoing nonjudgmental nature. She was a lifelong communicant of Saint Mary’s Catholic Church where she was married in 1948. She also was a past President of the Rosary Guild and spent many hours as a volunteer at Saint Mary’s School. She loved to read the daily paper and challenge herself with the crossword puzzles, jumbles, and brain teasers. She was also an avid novel reader and loved to travel. She possessed a sweet and witty spirit and had unwavering Love for family and friends. She was one class act that will be truly missed but forever in our hearts. Burial will be at a later date published by the family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Simsbury Volunteer Fire Department, Simsbury Ambulance and the Fireman’s Ladies Auxiliary.
