Obituary for Bernice Kowalski (Borkowski)

Bernice T. Borkowski Kowalski, beloved wife of Edward J. Kowalski, passed away peacefully on January 12, 2017 with her family by her side. Born to Max and Phyllis Borkowski of Rockville, CT, Bernice attended Rockville schools, as well as modeling and hair dressing schools in New York. Bernice became a free-lance model and also worked for Singer Sewing Center prior to her retirement. Bernice was an avid seamstress and made most of her own clothing. Bernice was a proud member of "Rosie the Riveter" for many years. Wife of Edward for 67 years, she made her home in Simsbury. She is survived by her three sons and their spouses, Edward J. (Mary) of East Hartland, Kevin J. (Barbara) of Simsbury and John C. (Sharon) of Myrtle Beach, SC. She had seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three sisters and two brothers. We wish to thank the staff at Governors House for their compassionate care giving.
