Marie J. Jaeggi, 80 - Born in Queens, New York, one of five children born to Elaine (Nan) and Giosue (Pop-Pop) Roseto. Graduating from Queens College, with a Master’s of Science in Education, Marie began her professional career teaching. Her college friendships from Sigma Delta Chi sorority were lifelong. This close knit bunch of women traveled abroad and stayed close sharing in all of their different stages of life. Marie’s friend, Connie Schultz who taught English as a second language had a student, Gustav, in her class who had immigrated to the United States from Switzerland. Connie was instrumental in initiating Marie and Gus’s relationship. The two were soon married in Corona, New York. Together they raised 4 children, spending time in Long Island, upstate New York, and southern Connecticut prior to settling down in Simsbury in 1978. Marie obtained her real estate license and received many state and national awards for her real estate achievements. To her family she was known for her kindness, her love for her family and friends, her wit and pure joy taken from a good conversation. She had a love for music, singing, dancing, and playing the organ. We are certain she is singing and dancing now. Marie’s gifts of relating to people of all ages and her drive to learn new things were among her many strengths. She is survived by her husband, Gustav, her sister Grace and her husband John, her three brothers: Frank and wife Joan, John and wife Sandy and Lou and wife Virginia. She is also survived by her four children: Stephen, Brian and wife Megan, Gina Daddona and husband Rich and Richard and wife Rachel and her grandchildren: Christopher, Emily, Caitlin, Justin, Nicholas, Kayla and Hally. On Saturday, January 21st at 11 AM, all are welcome to join us in celebrating Marie’s life with a Funeral Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary’s Church, 942 Hopmeadow Street in Simsbury.
