Obituary for Wanda Babcock (Parylak)

Wanda (Parylak) Babcock, 90, of Avon, beloved wife of Charles L. Babcock, died Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at John Dempsey Hospital surrounded by her family. She was born April 22, 1926 in Southington, daughter of the late Joseph and Agnes (Zygmunt) Parylak and had lived in Avon for many years. She was a member of the Church of Saint Ann in Avon and dedicated the last 28 years caring for her husband.

Besides her loving husband of 71 years, she is survived by her sons, Charles L. Babcock, III and his wife Betty of South Glastonbury; Terrance A. Babcock and his wife Lisa of Bonita Springs, FL; her daughter, Linda Leifert and her husband Ken of Browns Mills, NJ; her sister, Anna Babcock of Avon; her brother, John Parylak of Plainville; 9 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Joseph Parylak and three sisters, Mary Blakesley, Helen Warner, and Julia Glenowski.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, February 20th at the Vincent Funeral Home, 120 Albany Turnpike in Canton. Burial will follow in St. Ann’s Cemetery in Avon.
