Obituary for Daniel Joseph Pfau

Daniel Joseph Pfau, 60, of South Windsor, died on Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at Apple Rehab in Avon. He was born February 21, 1957 in Springfield, OH, son of the late Jerome J. and Thelma (Stewart) Pfau and had lived in South Windsor for the past 40 years. Daniel was a graduate of the University of Connecticut having received his Masters Degree in Engineering. Mr. Pfau was the Group Leader for Aero Thermal Testing and manager for the Jet Burner Test Stand at United Technologies Research Center and retired after 36 years with the company in 2015. He was a member of the UCONN Alumni Association and was an active Engineering Fair coordinator, a member of the NRA, and a past member of UTRC Engineering. Dan enjoyed hunting, golfing as a member of the UTRC Cedar Knob Golf League, fishing, camping, outdoor recreation and was an American History enthusiast.
He is survived by his two daughters, Katherine Pfau Kreager and her husband Bryan Kreager of Chicago, IL and Anna Pfau of West Hartford; his brother, Michael E. Pfau and his wife Aleisa of Santa Barbara, CA; his sister, Teresa Pfau St. Denis and her husband Thomas St. Denis of Simsbury; his nieces and nephews, Jason Pfau and his wife Larissa Robinson and their children, Alexandra and Theodore Pfau; Courtenay and Jennifer Pfau, and Martin and Natalie St. Denis.
Friends may call at the Vincent Funeral Home, 880 Hopmeadow Street in Simsbury on Friday, March 3rd from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Saturday, March 4th, at St. Mary’s Church, 942 Hopmeadow Street in Simsbury. Private burial will be in St. James Cemetery in Manchester. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Apple Rehab of Avon, 220 Scoville Road, Avon CT 06001.
