Obituary for Alfred N. Pandolfo

Alfred N. Pandolfo of Burlington passed away on April 5th at Masonicare in Wallingford with his family by his side after a four year battle with Merkel Cell skin cancer. Born in Hartford, March 1, 1949, he was the son of the late Anthony and Tecla Pandolfo. Al worked for the Aetna for 34 years and then drove Dial A Ride for the town of Burlington for eight years which he loved. Al had a passion for taking vacations with family and friends, trading in the stock market, his New York Yankees, NASCAR and Drag Racing and playing video poker at the casinos. He finally got to drive his Shelby Mustang GT 500 around the racetrack in Las Vegas doing 125 mph. He is survived by his wife Joan of 42 years, daughter Julie and son-in-law Mark of Bristol, daughter Christine and fiancé Marc of Middletown, his brother Richard and his wife Nora of Rocky Hill, and his sister Lorraine of Glastonbury. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Monday, April 10th at St. Patrick's Church, 50 Church Street in Collinsville. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Closer to Free Melanoma Program Fund, payable to Smilo Cancer Hospital, P.O. Box 1849, New Haven, CT 06508.
