Obituary for Richard Caserta

Richard Caserta
Richard Edward Caserta (Dick), 83, of Canton, beloved husband of Mary (Nascimbeni) Caserta, died Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at his home with family at his side. He was born August 28, 1933 in Granby, son of the late John F. and Harriet (Smart) Caserta and had lived in Canton for the past 70 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Dick owned and operated Cas-Kel Manufacturing in Canton for many years where he was currently working with his son. He was a member of St. Patrick’s Church in Collinsville. Dick’s passion was restoring antique cars including his beloved fire truck, that he drove in the Memorial Day parade. He also enjoyed working with his son, coffee with his buddies at Cas-Kel and celebrating life with his family.
Besides his loving wife of 61 years, he is survived by his four children, Mary Coutu and her husband Roger, Lisa Bahre and her husband Daniel, Beth Davis and her husband Keith and Richard Caserta and his wife Erica, all of Canton; his sisters, Marion Knaple, Rosemary Thompson and her husband James and Nancy Hoppi; his grandchildren, Jenna, Lisa, Margaret, Danielle, Allison, MaryBeth, Meghan, Michael, Sage and Richie; his great grandchildren, Mason and Gia and his in-laws, Stella and David Girardin, Ben and Barbara Nascimbeni, Gina and Alvaro Zappalorti, Louis Nascimbeni and many beloved nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sisters, Mildred Randall, Ruth Stowe and Beverly Jones.
Thank you to Dr. Rathmann, Joy, Kristina, Carla at the cancer center for the loving care they provided to our father and a special thank you to Darryl at the valet service who always greeted dad with a warm smile and a handshake.
There are no calling hours. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 22nd, at St. Patrick’s Church, 50 Church Street in Collinsville. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Wounded Warrior Project, PO Box 758517, Topeka, Kansas 66675-8517 or to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
