Obituary for John Francis Dean

John Francis Dean, 79, of Burlington, beloved husband of Letty Mae (Dary) Dean, died Sunday, April 30, 2017 at Bristol Hospital. He was born March 26, 1938 in Springfield, MA, son of the late Thomas and Joan (Deady) Dean. John graduated from Cathedral High School in Springfield and completed his undergrad studies at Western New England College. His graduate work was done at Worcester Poly and the University of Michigan. John was a veteran of the U.S. Army reserves, serving for eight years.

John's work career spanned many areas of endeavor, first as a Data Processing Analyst , Industrial Engineer , and in his closing years, a Public Accountant.

While a New Hartford resident, he was involved with politics, serving as a Justice of the Peace, Board of Finance Member and was on several appointed boards. As a Burlington resident, he was active for many years with the Lions Club and also as a youth coach in both basketball and soccer, for over 15 years.

His professional memberships were the American Institute of Industrial Engineers, Data Processing Management Assoc., and the American Association of Accountants.

John is survived by his beloved wife Letty of 50 years; his son, Bradford and his wife Jennifer and their adorable Emma, his granddaughter; his son, Matthew and his wife Pamela and their sweet William, his grandson and lovable Hannah, his granddaughter.

A funeral service will be be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, May 4th at the Vincent Funeral Home, 120 Albany Turnpike in Canton. John's family will receive friends prior to the service, starting at 11:00 AM. Burial with military honors will follow in Burlington Center Cemetery.
