Obituary for Ann Marie Potter (Reis)

Ann Marie Potter, 60, passed away on April 21, 2017 in Canton, Connecticut. Ann Marie was extremely active in the Simsbury Community where she resided for approximately 20 years. She was most active in the bike community. She passionately dedicated time and effort to help initiate the Free Bike Program and worked alongside a group of volunteers to help Simsbury become recognized as the first bike-friendly community in Connecticut. Her proudest achievement was spearheading the initiative to create the Simsbury Bike Sculpture, which now stands as a symbol of Simsbury’s commitment as a bike-friendly community. In her last few years, Ann Marie spent her time as a CNA. She is survived by three children: Amanda, 25, Stephen, 23 and Grace, 19 as well as a brother, Michael, sister, Yvonne and niece, Arianne. A memorial service will be held on Sunday April 30, 2017 at 2 P.M. at Simsbury United Methodist Church in Simsbury, Connecticut.
