Margaret Rose (Kerr) Shewchuk, 74, of West Simsbury, beloved wife of Danny Shewchuk, died Sunday, May 28, 2017 at John Dempsey Hospital in Farmington. She was born April 5, 1943 in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, daughter, of the late Lorne and Marion (Smith) Kerr and had lived in Montreal, Quebec, Canada and Memphis, TN prior to moving to West Simsbury 38 years ago. Mrs. Shewchuk was an LPN for many years and worked at McLean in Simsbury prior to her retirement. She enjoyed dancing, especially Round, Ballroom and Square Dancing and was a member of the Farmington Valley Square Dance Club. Margaret also enjoyed badminton, ice skating, gardening, birdwatching, cooking and crafts.


Besides her loving husband of 52 years, she is survived by her daughter, Dawn Shewchuk of Woodbury; her son, Derek Shewchuk and his wife Tami of Torrington; her brother, Arthur Kerr and his wife Marilyn of Westport, Ontario, Canada; her grandchildren, Craig, Austin and Addison Shewchuk. She was predeceased by a brother, Harold Kerr.
