Barbara Ellen “Mrs. G.” (Albee) Gillespie, 89, of New Hartford, died Friday, July 7, 2017. She was born June 12, 1928 in Kingston, NY, to the late Linus and Emma (Myers) Albee. Ganny is survived by her four children, Keith Gillespie of Avon, James Gillespie of New Hartford, Betty Miller and her husband Trueman of New Hartford and Cathy Sipes and her husband Steve of Spokane, WA; a granddaughter, Wendy Miller and her friend Robert Abalan, Jr. of Torrington; her great grandchildren, Steven Miller and Olivia Houle of Torrington; a brother, Harry Albee and his wife Beatrice of Florida and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a granddaughter, Sherry Miller; a brother, John Albee of Windsor, daughter-in-law, Joan Dubay and Wilfred Gillespie. Barbara worked at Cigna for over 30 years, Wheeler Bus Company in Avon and Executive Greetings in New Hartford. She was a devout Red Sox Fan and the greatest MOM and friend ever and will be fondly remembered saying “Play the numbers!”. There are no calling hours and service will be private.
