Dorothy Emma Fletcher peacefully passed away on Sunday, July 23, 2017 at the age of 95 in Simsbury, CT. She is survived by her son, Charles Fletcher and daughter-in-law, Deborah Fletcher; her daughter, Lynn Riveira and son-in-law, Joaquin Riveira; four grandchildren, Douglas and Jason Gallop, Jeffrey Fletcher and Cathleen Henkel and five great-grandchildren, Charles and Caelee Henkel and Riley, Dillon and Haley Fletcher.
Dorothy was born on October 20, 1921 in Fort Lee, NJ, to parents, Charles and Emma Pelton and graduated from Dumont High School, NJ. She was a social, active person who was deeply involved in volunteering for the Fidelco Guide Dog Foundation for many years.
A memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, August 5, at 2:00 p.m. at the Westminster Presbyterian Church, 2080 Boulevard in West Hartford, with a reception to follow. All are welcome to attend and celebrate the life of Dorothy with friends and family. The family would like to thank you for not sending flowers.
