Obituary for Loretta Vernon

Loretta (LaPointe) Vernon, 77, of Collinsville, beloved wife of the late Lawrence Vernon, died Wednesday, August 30, 2017 at her home. She was born January 2, 1940 in Hartford, daughter of the late Wilfred and Eva (Barrows) LaPointe and had lived in Canton for many years. Mrs. Vernon was an Account Manager at Travelers for many years. She was a member of St. Patrick’s Church in Collinsville and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Prince Thomas of Savory Society Italian Club in Avon. Loretta loved golf, boating with her husband and friends, skiing and gardening.
She is survived by her brother, Lawrence LaPointe; her sister-in-law, Ruth Siwy and her husband Chris; her brother-in-law, Peter Vernon and his wife Camilla and her nieces and nephews, Jeffrey Siwy, Heather Colebrook and Andrew and Amanda Vernon.
There are no calling hours. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Saturday, September 9th, at St. Patrick’s Church, 50 Church Street in Collinsville. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to the Smilow Cancer Center at St. Francis Hospital, Smilow Cancer Center
