Obituary for Leonard G. Reichhard Jr.

Leonard G. Reichhard, Jr. “Len”, died of old age at 95 on Sunday, November 19th, 2017.
Len was born on May 3, 1922, in Brooklyn, New York and will be interred in the Bronx. A distance of maybe 20 miles…that always gave him a chuckle as he visited over 50 countries on business or for pleasure. He also served in World War II in the Army Air Corps.
He is survived by his daughter, Linda Wallace and his son, Chip. The greatest tragedy of his life was the loss of his daughter, Judy Light, to ALS. Her courage was fantastic. He is also survived by his brother Bob and his wife Marge and family.
He married Betty Royce of Larchmont, New York in 1949. She was the mother of his three children and greatly loved. She was lost to cancer in 1991. He was also predeceased by his parents, Leonard and Bertha (Reeke) Reichhard and his sisters Ruth Sprague and Lois Miller.
The last 20 years of his life were buoyed by his great love, Alice Gleason. He was also rewarded by eleven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. To all - so long - it was a great ride.
Relatives and friends may join the family for calling hours on Friday, November 24, 2017, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Vincent Funeral Home, 880 Hopmeadow Street, Simsbury. Military honors will conclude the calling hours. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family. Any donations to the ALS Association would be greatly appreciated.
