Obituary for Heristine G. Conaway (Gantt)

Heristine Gantt Conaway, passed away peacefully on December 12, 2017, at the hospital surrounded by her loving husband Poncil and daughter Elease. Her spiritual daughter’s Laverne Conaway, and Donia Foster were also by her side during her times of ailment. She was born September 18, 1944, in Comer GA, to the late Alvergis Sr., and Elease Chappell Gantt. On December 24,1968, Heristine was united in marriage to Poncil Conaway Jr, whom loved her more than life itself. After moving to New Britain Connecticut, born into this union, were two children, Poncil 3rd, and Elease. They later settled into their dream home in Unionville Connecticut where she took great pride in her beautiful gardens. Heristine and Poncil shared a life of love and mutual respect for over 49 years. Heristine was raised in a Christian household and later devoted her life to Jehovah and was baptized in 1970. Heristine served Jehovah faithfully until her passing.

Heristine leaves to cherish a lifetime of precious and loving memories to her husband, Poncil Jr, her children Poncil 3rd, Elease and her husband Brian Paladino, her three loving loyal grandchildren, who she loved to spoil, Brandon Joseph, Maryssa Elease, and Mariyah Elizabeth Paladino. Heristine also leaves three loving brothers and their wives, Alvergis and Lessie Gantt of Atlanta GA, Eric and Claudia Gantt, Leon and Brenda Gantt of Comer GA. Heristine also leaves three loving and loyal sisters and their spouses, Sara Ella Jefferson of Augusta GA, Annis and Jim Mayweather of Winder GA, Genell and Terry Powers of Colbert GA, and Francine Gantt Allen. Heristine also leaves sister in laws Fannie Norris and Pearl Gantt, a special nephew Derrick Gantt, along with all her loving nephews Jimmy Mayweather, Keith and Jeff Gantt, Alvin Gantt, Shamar Gantt, Donald Gantt, Richard Allen, and Terry Gantt. Heristine also leaves her beautiful nieces, Renee Gantt, Yurandol Powers, Tnonealyer Powers, Florence Bacon, Stephanie Gantt and Brianna Gantt. Heristine also leaves a host of cousins, other family and many friends to remember her vibrant life. Heristine was predeceased by two brothers Lawrence C Gantt and Dennis Gantt whom she loved with all her heart.
