Obituary for Andrew Joseph Lewicki

Andrew Joseph “Zbig” Lewicki passed away quietly in his sleep on Sunday, December 31, 2017 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Andrew was born on June 7, 1947 in Bomlic, Germany and immigrated to the United States with his parents on August 31, 1949. Andrew is predeceased by his father, Antoni Lewicki and mother, Marcjanna (Adamski) Lewicki. Andrew also leaves behind his brother Raymond Lewicki and his wife, Dana; his brother Gary Lewicki and nephew, Adam Lewicki; his sister Krysia Demusz and her husband, Darek (Andrew’s best friend) and their four children, Asia Muth and husband John along with their four children, Skyler, Phoebe, Oliver and Ezra; Briana Garneau and husband David; and Kai and Noah Demusz.
Andrew is a veteran, having served in the U.S. Army National Guard and a graduate of the University of Connecticut where he majored in marketing. He had a long and successful career in sales, winning numerous awards for his outstanding achievements. Andrew’s passion was golf and he enjoyed playing with his friends at his home course, Stanley Golf Course in New Britain. He also loved music and reading. Andrew or “Zbig” as his family and friends knew him had a great sense of humor and was fun to be around. He was down to earth and was a real people-person. He had a big heart and was always willing to help others.
His family would like to thank the staff at Cherry Brook Healthcare in Canton who took such good care of Andrew. They became an extended family to Andrew and he loved everyone there so much that it was his last wish that he stay there to the end. A memorial service is scheduled for Friday, January 12, 2018 at 1:00 PM at St. Catherine of Siena Church in West Simsbury. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the National Cancer Society. Please visit Andrew’s Book of Memories at www.vincentfuneralhome.com.
