Obituary for Harry Richard Clark

Harry Richard Clark, 77, of East Wakefield Blvd., Winsted, beloved husband of the late Barbara Aline (Gurka) Clark, died Friday, February 16, 2018 at his home with family at his side. He was born March 7, 1940 in Baltimore, MD, son of the late Harry and Mary (Atkinson) Clark, brother of the late Betty Clark. Richard had lived in Collinsville, CT and Yorktown Heights, NY prior to moving to Winsted 22 years ago. Richard was a veteran having served in the U.S. Army. Richard owned multiple businesses over the years, most recently having been the President of Planet-Hi-Fi in Waterbury and Plainville CT. He attended the Collinsville Congregational Church and was a member of the Highland Lake Watershed Association. Richard enjoyed bird watching, boating, family lake parties, playing pinochle, landscaping and drives in his classic Corvette.

Richard is survived by his daughter, Susan McNerney, her husband Tom and their children, Tommy, Sean and Jack of Cazenovia, NY; his son, Richard Clark and his children, Harry and Emily of Bristol, CT, his brothers and their wives, Conrad and Judy Terrill, of Lanham, MD, Ward and Marybeth Terrill, of Rocky Mount, NC and Greg and Gale Terrill, of Laurens, SC; many nieces and nephews and his very special friend Patricia.

There are no calling hours. A memorial service will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Friday, February 23rd at the Collinsville Congregational Church, 7 South Street in Collinsville. Burial will be in the spring, on Saturday, May 19th starting at 10 am there will be a memorial service to bring together Richard and his late wife Barbara before the burial at the Collinsville Congregational Church where they were married, 7 South Street in Collinsville followed by burial Southwest Cemetery in Collinsville. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Highland Lake Watershed Association, P.O. Box 1022, Winsted, CT 06098 or at hlwa.org or to the Foothills VNA, 32 Union Street, Winsted, CT 06098. The Vincent Funeral Home of Canton is caring for the arrangements.
