Andrea Mary (Jendrejcak) Kowalczyk, 72, of Burlington, formerly of Canton, beloved wife of 35 years to Richard M. Kowalczyk, died on Wednesday, February 21, 2018, at home surrounded by her family. She was born October 5, 1945, in Hartford, CT, daughter of the late Joseph and Catherine (Erha) Jendrejcak. Andrea was a member of St. Patrick’s Church in Collinsville, she was a certified gemologist, enjoyed fashion and was an amazing cook. She also enjoyed spending sunny days on the beach and long rides in her convertible. Andrea adored her dogs Kiki and Gracie and bird watching, especially canaries and cardinals.
Andrea was the cornerstone of her family. She and husband built their family home, where they raised their two daughters and lived for thirty years. In addition to her husband Richard, she is survived by two daughters, Deborah Dorin and her husband John of Cheshire and Teresa Tom and her fiancé Ryan Swanson of Burlington; three grandchildren, Lynndsay and Justin Dorin of Cheshire and Andrew Tom of Burlington; brother-in-law, Robert Kowalczyk and his wife Perina of Southington, a nephew, Robert Kowalczyk of South Glastonbury, and her niece, Christina Ney and her husband Patrick of Middlebury. Andrea was predeceased by a brother Donald Jendrejcak.
Relatives and friends may join the family for calling hours on Tuesday, February 27th from 4 to 7 p.m. at The Vincent Funeral Home, 120 Albany Tpke, Canton. A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, February 28th at 10AM at St. Patrick’s Church, 50 Church Street in Collinsville. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
