Obituary for Kenneth W. Price

Kenneth W. Price, 98, of Avon, husband of 72 years to the late Evelyn (Love) Price, died peacefully Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at River Ridge of Avon. He was born October 23, 1919 in Philadelphia, PA, son of the late James and Irene (Myers) Price. He grew up in Folsom, PA where he and his future wife were childhood sweethearts. He was always active, becoming an Eagle Scout, playing football, and was a diver and swimmer. After some college he joined the Navy to become a pilot. Kenneth was an eight year veteran having served in the U.S. Navy during World War II as a pilot. After leaving the Navy he became a Buyer for General Electric in Philadelphia. Later transferred to GE in Plainville, CT where they lived in Avon. He completed his college education graduating from the University of Hartford. After retirement he continued to enjoy flying, golfing, bowling, reading, chess and was an avid follower of the UCONN women’s basketball. He was a member of Masonic Lodge 0578 in Prospect Park, PA.
Kenneth is survived by his son, Alan Price and his wife Tammy of Folsom, PA; his daughter, Linda Schultz and partner, Dan McHale of Avon; his grandchildren, Richard Price and Christopher Price of Springfield PA; Melissa Boege and her husband Kurt of Wilhoit, AZ; Ryan Schultz and his wife Loretta of Avon; his great granddaughter, Stephanie Price of Pennsylvania, and his niece, Christine Weyer and her husband, Christopher of Glen Mills, PA. He was predeceased by is brother, Clinton Price.
Friends may call at the Vincent Funeral Home, 120 Albany Turnpike, Canton on Saturday, March 24th from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM closing with a memorial service at the funeral home at 11:00 A.M. to celebrate the life of both Kenneth and Evelyn. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Hospital for Children.
