Obituary for Carolyn Staub (Francis)
Carolyn R. Staub,
Our mom, grandmother and wonderful friend, left us too soon on March 2, 2018 from complications of a stroke. Carolyn Francis Staub was born June 13, 1940 in Bayside, New York. She and our father, Joel H. Staub, married September 12, 1959. We quickly followed and enjoyed an active, adventurous childhood. Mom lived several places in her life but called Connecticut home for over the past 30 years. She retired from Planning Partners in 2015, a financial planning firm that she founded over 25 years ago. She was very proud of her business and the many clients she served, many of whom she made lasting friendships with. Above all Mom loved her family and friends. She enjoyed travel, music, plays, Broadway shows, history, walking in the woods, and was game for adventures of any kind. She will be dearly missed by all fortunate enough to have known her.
Mom was predeceased by her husband, Joel H. Staub. She is survived by her life partner, Warren Gedstad and his family; her children, Debbie (Tom Gonia), Ken (Diane Eshelman), Andy (Marcile), and Rick (Cheryl); her grandchildren Benjamin Gonia, Danielle Nelson (Jacob), Willie Gonia, Kyle, Carly Gonia, Trevor (Bridgette), Colin, Jason, Christopher, Alissa, Justin and Rachel; sister in-law Linda Parsons and niece and nephews Kathie, Michael and Jamie and her many, many friends.
Visitation with the family will be held at the Vincent Funeral Home, 880 Hopmeadow Street in Simsbury on Thursday, March 8th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Please join us for services at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 224 Lovely Street in Avon on Friday, March 9 at 1:00 p.m. to celebrate Mom’s life.
