She was happiest being outdoors and loved working in her yard and flower gardens accompanied by her cats Penelope, Muffin and neighbor cat, Simon. She spent many tranquil summer evenings canoeing on Lake Ashuelot at the family cottage in New Hampshire with her husband and was brave enough to try water skiing once.
