Patricia Montez (Westphal) Youell, 69, of Simsbury, beloved wife of the late Gary Bruce Youell, died Wednesday, May 9, 2018, peacefully in her home. She was born August 21, 1948 in Hartford, daughter of Lounell (Douglas) Westphal of Ormond Beach, FL and the late Otto Franz Westphal and had lived in Canton prior to moving back to Simsbury. Patricia was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Days Saints, where she was a Sunday School Teacher and active volunteer throughout her life. She was a world traveler, enjoyed gardening, genealogy and singing, and loved being a grandmother.
In addition to her mother, Patricia is survived by her five children, Christie Goldman and her husband Colin of Granby, Sharon Middlebrook and her husband Peter of Dubai, UAE, Amber Youell and her husband Michael Shaw of Basel, Switzerland, Melanie Poulsen and her husband Darin of Manassas, VA and Jared Youell of Canton; her sister, Phyllis Gonska and brother, James Westphal of Ormond Beach, FL, and 13 grandchildren: Brent, Aubrey and Alyssa Goldman; Ami, Amba, Bella and Lillie Middlebrook; Nike Shaw; Madeline, Elizabeth and Violet Poulsen; and Nora Youell.
There are no calling hours. Graveside Service will be Monday, May 14th at 12:00 noon in Simsbury Cemetery, 16 Plank Hill Road in Simsbury.
