Obituary for Charles David Demora

Charles David Demora, 86, of Canton, beloved husband of Irene (Gaioni) Demora, died Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at his home. He was born March 30, 1932 in New Britain, son of the late John and Carmella (Naples) Demora and had lived in Wolcott prior to moving to Canton 65 years ago. Mr. Demora owned and operated the Canton Barber Shop for over 65 years. He was a member of the Prince Thomas of Savoy Society in Avon and St. Patrick's Church in Collinsville. Charlie enjoyed fishing and hunting, dancing, horse racing and spending time with family and friends and gatherings.

Besides his loving wife of 65 years, he is survived by his two daughters, Susan Marsh and her husband Joseph of New Hartford and Darlene Treleaven and her husband Thomas of Harwinton; his daughter-in-law, Susan Demora; two brothers, Julian and John Demora, both of Florida; three sisters, Diana Lindsey of Panama City Beach, FL, Marie Collier and her husband Richard of West Palm Beach, FL and Sylvia Leary and her husband Gerry of West Palm Beach, FL; his grandchildren, Jennifer Perry, Michael Marsh, Chandra Rogers, Marissa Murphy, Mike Treleaven, Megan Graham, Aimee Sargent and Tyler Demora; his great grandchildren, Elexys Savoy, Lilia Rogers, Maya Rogers, Charley Murphy, Oliver Sargent, Bennett Sargent, Colette Sargent, Ayla Williams, Elliott Demora, Lauren Graham, Lucas Treleaven and Nicholas Treleaven and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son, David Demora; a brother, Edward Demora and a sister, Delia Rubio.

There are no calling hours. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Monday, May 21st, at St. Patrick's Church, 50 Church Street in Collinsville. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Collinsville. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
