Robert Clifton Jackson, 75, of Simsbury, beloved husband of Nancy (Stowe) Jackson, died Friday, May 25, 2018 at Hartford Hospital. He was born June 3, 1942 in Shanghai, China, son of the late William Lee and Anna Maria Theresa (dos Remedios) Jackson and had lived in Simsbury for over 40 years. He was a graduate of Tennessee Wesleyan College, Class of 1966. Mr. Jackson retired from UnitedHealthcare in 2016 after 46 years of service. Robert was a longtime member of the Simsbury Fish and Game Club and the Farmington River Anglers Association. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, fishing, fly fishing, fly tying and canoeing and was beloved by all the neighborhood cats and dogs.
In addition to his wife of 48 years, he is survived by his son, David Jackson of Cambridge, MA; his daughter, Anna Jackson and her husband Philipp Drechsel of Amberg, Germany; his young grandsons, Jonah and Elijah Drechsel; his brothers, Lee Jackson and his wife Shannon of Lexington, KY and Bill Jackson and his wife Becky of Centreville, VA and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 30th from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Vincent Funeral Home, 880 Hopmeadow Street in Simsbury. Funeral service will be at the funeral home at 10:00 AM on Thursday, May 31st. Burial will be private.
