Cecelia Ann Russell, 65, of Avon, CT, died Wednesday, July 4, 2018 at John Dempsey Hospital in Farmington, CT. She was born November 7, 1952 in St. Louis, MO, daughter of the late Robert Lee and Irene (Boehning) Russell and lived in Belleville, IL for many years prior to moving to Avon, CT. Cecelia was a graduate of Belleville Area College, having received her Associates Degree in Laboratory Technology. Ms. Russell was a Medical Lab Technician at Memorial Hospital in Belleville, IL for many years. She was a longtime member of Signal Hill Lutheran Church in Belleville, IL and was a member of the College of American Pathologists. Cecelia enjoyed reading, watching movies, cooking, spending time with friends, and loved dogs and was a fan of the St. Louis Cardinals.

She is survived by her brother, Robert Russell of Simsbury, CT; her nephew, Michael Russell and his wife Carolyn; her aunt and uncle, Agnes and Richard Boehning; her uncle Edward Boehning and several cousins.

There are no calling hours. Services with final burial will be in New Minden, IL. The Vincent Funeral Home of Simsbury, CT is caring for the arrangements.
