Obituary for Dennis Roy Gillette

Dennis Roy Gillette, 72 of Torrington, beloved husband of Victoria (Sapia) Gillette, died Thursday, July 5, 2018 at home with his wife at his side. He was born February 27, 1946 in Pensacola, FL, son of the late Arthur and Christine (Butterfield) Gillette and had lived in Watertown prior to moving to Torrington 16 years ago. Mr. Gillette was an Electrician for the State of Connecticut for many years prior to his retirement. He had also worked at Lone Oak Campsite for over 20 years as a Security Guard and RV Tech. Dennis was a member of the Watertown Volunteer Fire Department, dedicating 25 years of service. He was a fan of UCONN Womens Basketball, enjoyed Celine Dion's music, enjoyed beekeeping with his grandparents, loved his dogs, Kali, Sammy, Mufasa and Razzel and enjoyed camping at Lone Oak Campsite and Lake Waramaug.
In addition to his loving wife of 13 years, he is survived by his children, Maureen Eaquinta, Jennifer Houston, Dennis A. Gillette, Nancy Piccione, Dana Campbell, Jeremy Westerling, Nicholas Westerling, Denise Hauser and Helenna Hauser; 21 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his brother, Robert Gillette.
There are no calling hours. A memorial service will be celebrated Friday, July 13th at 11:00 AM at the First Congregational Church in Watertown, 40 DeForest Street in Watertown. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Collins Road in Collinsville at 10:00 AM on Saturday, July 14th. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Watertown Fire Department, 935 Main Street, Watertown, CT 06795. The Vincent Funeral Home of Canton is caring for the arrangements.
