Elizabeth “Betty” Woollacott, 90, of Simsbury, passed away on Friday, August 31, 2018. She was born on August 14, 1928 in Hartford, to Marvin Anson Barrett and Ruth Murray who she will join in heaven. Betty was predeceased by her husband, Evan Williams Woollacott, Sr. whom she was married to for a loving 62 years. Betty will be missed as a loving and caring mother to her two sons; Evan W. Woollacott, Jr. and his wife Linda of Windsor, and Jonathan Woollacott of Simsbury. Betty treasured her grandchildren; Tara (Woollacott) Moauro and her husband Matthew of Windsor, Matthew Woollacott of Mesa, AZ, and Marilyn Woollacott of Waterbury and her two great grandchildren; Tyler and Mason Moauro. Betty also leaves behind her cousin, Captain Roderick White of Old Lyme.

Betty was a graduate of St. Joseph’s College receiving a degree in Liberal Arts. She was a proud member of the Simsbury Historical Society, the Simsbury Garden Club and the Abigail Phelps Chapter of the DAR. Outside of the time she spent volunteering, she enjoyed knitting, reading history books and was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox. She looked forward to every summer for over the past 50 years, where she would visit East Brewster, Cape Cod. Her favorite past-time was going to Antonio’s every Friday night, where she had her very own booth and her second family.

Family and Friends will gather on Saturday, September 15, 2018 at St. Alban’s Church, 197 Bushy Hill Road in Simsbury from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM followed by a memorial service at 3:00 PM.
