Obituary for Judith Hudson (Kausch)

Judith Kausch Hudson, 81, of Simsbury, beloved wife of Paul Eugene Hudson, died Thursday, May 18, 2023 at Hartford Hospital. She was born November 20, 1941 in Dearborn, Michigan, daughter of the late John Kausch and Helen Swidan. She lived in Trumbull prior to moving to Simsbury 47 years ago. She was co-owner of The Hudson Group executive search firm for many years prior to her retirement. She and Paul raised four children and many pets through their years in Simsbury. Judy was involved in various volunteer activities including making cookies for workers during the winter holidays, donating books to various nonprofits, and was a founding member of an arts council in Berlin-Gorham, NH. She was an avid sewer, weaver, gardener, and cook and enjoyed watching the New England Patriots with her late husband. Judy was an extraordinary person, mother, grandmother, and a great source of support to many loved ones over their lifetimes. She was always thinking, thoughtfully giving, and hard working. May she rest in peace.

She is remembered by her children Laura and Jim McClain of Ocracoke, NC; Maria and Micah McCauley of Somerville, MA; Christopher Hudson of Tariffville, Marcos Hudson of Tariffville and her grandchildren Iris and Duncan McClain of Ocracoke, NC and Micah Woo and Grace McCauley of Somerville, MA. Her two cats Apollo and Gigi also miss their cat mom and have been adopted by the McCauley family, which was one of Judy’s final wishes. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 55 years, Paul Hudson; her mother Helen Swidan, her father John Kausch, and dear siblings Jack Kausch, Margaret Bennett and M.J. Kennedy.

Services will be private. Donations in her memory may be made to Connecticut Cat Connection. The Vincent Funeral Home of Simsbury is caring for the arrangements. Please visit Judy’s Book of Memories at www.vincentfuneralhome.com for online tributes.
