Henry L. Urbanski
Henry L. Urbanski, 82, of Canton, beloved husband of Charlotte (Calderone) Urbanski, died Friday, November 9, 2012, at St. Francis Hospital. He was born on December 24, 1929 in New Britain, son of the late Joseph and Helen (Kulis) Urbanski and had lived in New Britain, Plainville and Southington prior to moving to Canton 27 years ago. He served four years in the United States Air Force during the Korean War and was also in the Air National Guard. Mr. Urbanski was a telephone repairman for SNET for 41 years prior to retirement in 1994. He was a member of the First Church of Christ Congregational in Unionville and worked with the Southington Police Department and the CT State Police. He enjoyed vacationing with family, fishing and bowling. Besides his loving wife of 58 years, he is survived by his daughter, Lori and granddaughter, Amy, both of Canton, also several nieces and nephews, and a special niece, Karen Nicosia, who looked after him. He was predeceased by his daughter, Bonnie. The family wishes to thank the Winsted VNA staff, with special appreciation to his caregivers, Ida, Karen and Angela, for their compassionate and dignified care. Henry will be dearly missed and will live in our hearts forever. Funeral service and burial will be private. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children, 51 Blossom St., Boston, MA 02114 or FAVARH (Farmington Valley Arc) P.O. Box 1099, Canton, CT 06019.
