Obituary for Richard Alan Adams

Known for his infectious kindness, curiosity, passion for being of service to others and playfulness in all moments of life, Richard Alan Adams passed away surrounded by his loving family in Chanhassen, Minnesota, on June 18, 2015. Mr. Adams was born in Washington, D.C., in 1939 and was educated with his brothers and sister at Montegomery Blaire High School. He went on to Ohio Wesleyan University were he was a proud Sigma Chi graduating in '61. An exemplary patriot, Mr. Adams served in the Navy from '62-'65 and was honorably discharged as Lieutenant Commander. He continued his service in the Naval Reserves until the early 70's. He spent 25 years at Connecticut General and exercised his entrepreneurial muscles as consultant and co-founder of Elisit Solutions. He is lovingly remembered by his wife of 52 years, Patricia Lindsay Adams, daughter, Elizabeth F. Adams and her husband Markus A. Fischer, son David L. Adams and his wife Elizabeth V. Adams, and six grandchildren, Alex, Adam, Kate, Nikolas, Julia and Alec. His honor to his word, his respect for all people, his talent for listening to you as the most important person in the world and his wonder at the magic of the universe will always be treasured. Calling hours with family and friends will be held on Friday, June 26th from 5:00PM - 7:00PM at the Vincent Funeral Home, 880 Hopmeadow Street in Simsbury. A Celebration of Dick Adams' Life will be held at the Simsbury United Methodist Church, 799 Hopmeadow Street in Simsbury at 2PM on Saturday, June 27th. He will be privately interred next to son Richard Alan Adams, Jr. in the Simsbury Cemetery.
