Obituary for Jay Edward Eustace

Jay Edward Eustace, 70, of Avon, beloved husband of Bonita “Bonnie” (Cables ) Eustace died Tuesday, August 4, 2015 at John Dempsey Hospital in Farmington. He was born September 15, 1944 in Hartford, son of the late Junior Edward and Lucile (Forker) Eustace and had lived in Canton most of his life prior to moving to Avon a year ago. Jay was a graduate of the Canton High School, Class of 1963 and was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in Korea. For several years he worked for the family business, E.W. Eustace and Sons and was a Lineman for CL&P for 30 years prior to his retirement. Jay coached and umpired for Canton Little League and Youth Soccer for many years. He enjoyed the outdoors, spending countless hours in the woods, fishing along Cherry Brook, and boating in Long Island Sound. Jay cherished having coffee with his buddies on Tuesdays and Fridays and watching NASCAR at cousin Steve’s with “the gang”. Besides his loving wife of 46 years, he is survived by his two sons, Robert Eustace and his wife Jennifer of North Granby and Todd Eustace of Simsbury and his fiancé Elaine Grant of Avon; his grandson Tanner and granddaughters, Kayla and Zoe; his sister, Sydnie Goodrich and her husband Thomas of Canton; his brother-in-law, Gary Cables and his wife Laura of Alabama; his mother-in-law, Shirley Spunar of Canton and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Vincent Funeral Home, 120 Albany Turnpike in Canton on Saturday, August 8th, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Further services will be private.
