Obituary for Leonora Yarusewicz

Leonora "Nora" Yarusewicz, Entered into eternal peace on August 8, 2015. She was born on March 19, 1921 to Alfredo and Domenica Salvatore in Simsbury, CT. She was predeceased by her husband, Stanislaw Yarusewicz; sister, Perina Kohan; brothers, Silvio Salvatore, Angelo Salvatore, Pietro Salvatore and Leo Salvatore. She is survived by her brother, Roland Salvatore and his wife Frances; sisters-in-law, Ceilia Tomusiak and Beatrice Salvatore; daughter, Janice Starkey and her husband James; granddaughters, Jennifer Almendarez and her husband Nicholas and Jessica Starkey-Bryson and her husband Clifton and many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews. Nora graduated from Simsbury High School in 1939. After graduation, she went to work for Ensign-Bickford Industries. She retired in 1983 after competing 44 years of service. While working, she pursued her desire to become a hairdresser and graduated from Hartford Academy of Hairdressing in 1970. She was very active in the Simsbury Senior Center. She moved to Arizona in 2009. She attended activities at the Cottonwood Senior Center. The family would like to thank the staff at Hospice of the Pines and Sedona Winds Assisted Living facility for the care they gave her. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary Church, 942 Hopmeadow Street in Simsbury on Saturday, August 29th at 10:00 am followed by burial in Simsbury Cemetery.
