Obituary for Edward J. Englisby Jr.

Edward Jerome Englisby, 86, of Simsbury, husband of the late Muriel (Deegan) Englisby, died Friday, March 18, 2016 at the Governor’s House in Simsbury. He was born January 12, 1930 in Jersey City, NJ, son of the late Edward J. and Rose (DeLeva) Englisby and had lived in Massachusetts and New York prior to moving to Simsbury over 40 years ago. He was a graduate of St. Peter’s College, Class of 1948, having received his Bachelors Degree in Business Administration. Mr. Englisby was an Officer for Travelers Insurance for many years prior to his retirement and was also in the Naval Reserves. He was a member of St. Mary’s Church. Edward enjoyed his family and spending time at the Jersey Shore. He is survived by his four children, Lawrence Englisby and his wife Claudia of Simsbury, Debra Lipnick and her husband Philip of Simsbury, David Englisby of Springfield, MA and Karen Brendline and her husband Robert of Simsbury; his seven grandchildren, Jarad, Jonathan, Lauren, Alissa, Kelly, David and Danielle and four great grandchildren, Anthony, Mariel, Stella and Jonnie. He was predeceased by his brother James Patrick Englisby. Friends may call at the Vincent Funeral Home, 880 Hopmeadow Street in Simsbury, on Monday, March 21st from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Funeral will be Tuesday, March 22nd, 9:15 AM from the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 10:00 AM at St. Mary's Church in Simsbury. Burial will be in Simsbury Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Simsbury Volunteer Ambulance Association, P.O. Box 301, Simsbury CT 06070.
