Obituary for Anne T. Henderson

Anne Henderson, 91, wife of the late Paul D. Henderson, passed away peacefully on March 25. Anne was born in Braintree, MA in 1924, the daughter of Joseph F. and Marion S. Tagen. After raising her three children, she held long time positions with the Avon School System and MH Rhodes Company of Avon. She and Paul moved to Matthews, NC at retirement. When Paul died, she came back to the Farmington Valley to be close to her daughters and old friends. Anne was a warm and friendly person, who loved to learn about people and their families and interests. She was a skilled baker who excelled at breads and made the best piecrust ever. She loved animals of all kinds, and was particularly fond of cats. She supported a number of charities that helped in the rescue and care of animals in need. She leaves her daughters, Elizabeth Henderson and Carol Tarantino; her son, Edward Henderson; son-in-law Salvatore Tarantino; grandsons Scott and Gregory Henderson; her dear niece, April Adams, and many friends. She was pre-deceased by her brother Robert Tagen, and an infant daughter, Janet Susan. After cremation, burial will be private, at the convenience of the family. The Vincent Funeral Home of Simsbury is making arrangements; on-line messages of condolence can be left in her Book of Memories at www.vincentfuneralhome.com.
The family would like to thank the many employees of the Uconn Health Center, who were so supportive of us all in Anne’s last days. We will always remember their kindness and compassion.
