Nancy Bradford Thomas Meikle, 93, peacefully passed away at McLean Long-Term Care Center in Simsbury, CT on July 9, 2016. Nancy was born March 2, 1923, in Melrose, Massachusetts, to Mildred and Horace Thomas. She married Al Shea in 1942 and had a daughter, Susan. Al died during WWII in 1944 . Nancy married William (Bill) Meikle in 1948 and had a son, Douglas. Bill died in 1977. Nancy will always be remembered for her easy laugh and quick wit, and her ability to brighten the days of those around her. All she needed was an audience. She loved jazz music and was a member of the Hartford Jazz Society. She attended Fairfax Bates College, and was a long-time member of the First Church of Christ, Simsbury. She is survived by her daughter Susan Purdy of Haddam, CT; son Doug Meikle (Susan) of Oxford, OH; grandchildren Jeffrey and Brian Purdy and Claire Meikle; and great-grandchildren Jack, Sam, Ryan, Reese and Andrew Purdy.
