Laura (Hiland) Ziegenbalg, 60, of Terryville, beloved wife of William H. Ziegenbalg, died Friday, August 12, 2016 at John Dempsey Hospital. She was born April 12, 1956 in Staten Island, NY, daughter of the late John and Jean (Remsen) Hiland and had lived in West Milford, NJ prior to moving to Terryville several years ago. Laura was a Patient Service Representative for UCONN Health / Dr. Cappadonna’s office in Simsbury for many years but if you asked them what she did, they say she was the glue that held the office together. She enjoyed reading, gardening. But most of all she loved spending time with her family and playing with her dogs, Sophie and Bailey.
Besides her loving husband of 37 years, she is survived by her two sons, Billy Ziegenbalg and his wife Kelly of Southington and Brian Ziegenbalg of Terryville; her daughter, Lindsay Karabin and her husband Ryan of Winsted; her two brothers, Douglas Hiland and his wife Debbie and Peter Hiland and his wife Lauren and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be celebrated at the Vincent Funeral Home, 120 Albany Turnpike in Canton at 3:00 PM on Saturday, August 20th. Calling hours will be held prior to the service, from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
