Pauline (Allen) Young, of New Hartford, beloved wife of Lincoln S. Young, died Friday, February 13, 2009 at John Dempsey Hospital after a lengthy illness. She was born in Wichita, KS, daughter of the late Arthur and Fanny (Milton) Allen. Pauline worked at the Simsbury Bank for 12 years as the Head of New Accounts and later at Galloping Boutique in West Harford for 8 years. She was a member of the Litchfield Congregational Church and the Town and County Club of Hartford. Her many creative interests included gardening, sewing, cooking and traveling. Pauline owned a home in Bequia, West Indies for 20 years where she loved to spend the winters. Besides her husband of 32 years, she is survived by her three daughters and one son; Cassandra Matt of Richmond, VA, Stephanie Brewer of Houston, TX, Katherine Young of Tampa, FL, and Lincoln S. Young of Simsbury. She also leaves five grandchildren; Nicolas, Derek, Joseph, Lincoln and Sam; two brothers, Wayne Allen of Reno, NV and Jerry Allen of Howard, KS and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Lorene Cowell. Friends may call at the Vincent Funeral Home, 880 Hopmeadow Street, Simsbury, Friday, February 20, 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A memorial service will be celebrated Saturday, February 21, 5:00 PM at First Congregational Church of Litchfield, 21 Torrington Road, Litchfield with the Reverend David F. Rockness officiating.
